PREAMBLE
This is Christopher University(UNICHRIS), the hope of the nation, where lives are made anew. The Council and Management of Christopher University have the mandate to open up a new horizon within the nation’s academic arena. We are out to do something novel and spectacular in academics that will bring about transformative change in the professional and Academic world.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to train competent manpower that has the character for optimal performance no matter how daunting the task is. To accomplish our set objectives, we partner with professional bodies and private organizations that have similar visions and missions as us.
OUR FOCUS
Our mission is to excel in management studies and practice, hence, the need to match theory with practice. For this reason, we will combine the formal and functional approaches in the training of our students so that they can be made ready materials for the nation’s industries. This goes without saying that the training of our students will follow the virtues and values of management.
LINK WITH OTHER UNIVERSITIES HOME AND ABROAD
To accomplish its set goals and aspirations, links have been established with First Generation Universities within the country from where the cream of its manpower will be drawn. In addition, highly rated scholars from top foreign universities will be invited to deliver talks to the students through lectures, seminars, symposia, and conferences.
PROMOTION OF THE VIRTUES OF SCHOLARSHIP
The Christopher University Management harps seriously on sterling qualities such as discretion, caution, frugality, liberality or freedom of mind, good sense of judgment, honesty, courage, fidelity, diligence, enterprise, industry, prudence, temperance, sobriety, patience, constancy, perseverance, forethought, consideration, cheerfulness, and philosophical tranquility. These inestimable qualities necessary for the attainment of self-esteem and self-reliance are germane to the spirit of entrepreneurship for national development. They are also qualities that can be attained only through research and practice.
ENCOURAGEMENT OF LEADERSHIP AND ENTREPRENEURIAL QUALITIES
The Council and Management of the Christopher University place a high premium on leadership and entrepreneurial training. We fervently believe that freedom and responsibility, iron will, and determination are germane to leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. This requires holistic education for the holistic training of students. This is why for us, the inculcation of leadership and entrepreneurship skills will be done in collaboration with the private and public sectors. On a regular basis, experts from the private and public sectors will be invited to interact with and impact our students on the fundamental motifs and modus operandi of management.
PROVISION OF A CONDUCIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR LEARNING AND SOCIAL INTERACTION
Christopher University provides a serene and secure environment with top-quality infrastructure for learning and social interaction. There is adequate provision of light, water, housing and offices for staff, hostels for students, internet service, e-library, well-equipped classrooms and laboratories for learning. There are also recreation facilities and other amenities that enable intellectual and social interaction. Christopher University is the place where the gown fraternizes with the town for leadership and entrepreneurial training.
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE INSTITUTE OF ASSET MANAGEMENT
Work is currently going on to establish the Institute of Asset Management. When completed, the institute will be the first of its kind in the country. The institute shall adopt a holistic approach to management. It is our hope that the pursuit and accomplishment of our aims and objectives about management science and humanities in Nigeria will catapult us to the status of a foremost University. We aspire to be one of the best in the enterprise of human capital development ..
