The promoter of the Christopher University, Translucent Management Services, has for many years noted the yawning gap that exists between industry and the academia. At various times, it has successfully established very strong and robust linkages between the private sector and the academia with emphasis on capacity building and management training. This stride was a very strong motivation for the establishment of a university, with strong emphasis on the management sciences, that relies on linkages with the corporate world, locally and internationally. This close collaboration and consultation between academia and industry will lead to the development and establishment of high level management training programs relevant to the immediate and future manpower needs of the corporate world and the public sector.

In venturing into this great task, the promoter, took time to study what exist in the abreast of the educational sector, noting the shortcomings in human and capital development, the challenges of business and management in the contemporary global knowledge economy and felt compelled to intervene with a view to establishing a first class institution that will train students, who upon graduation, shall be equipped with the requisite skills, knowledge and competencies to fit into the industry and public sector in any part of the world and be key players in their various fields of specialization.

The burning quest, of many Nigerians for quality university education and the few spaces available for them to realize their ambitions and fulfill their aspiration provided further impetus for the establishment of Christopher University as a contribution to the national effort aimed at enhancing access to quality university education in a location close to Lagos, a melting pot and the country’s commercial / Industrial nerve centre.The responsibility of meeting the objectives of Christopher University was initially vested in the Planning and Implementation Committee (PIC), made up of men of integrity, skills and experience.The management of the university is now in the hands of the relevant structures; The Board of Trustees (BoT), The Governing Council and management. The Chancellor, who is also the visitor, oversees all these structures.
